Sta ste poslednje citali iz sf oblasti ako ste uopste citali. I ako uopste znate da citate jer u Srbiji ima 15% nepismenih jel. A kompjuterski nepismenih ima preko 50%. Jebes drzavu. Al bice bolje.

Ukupno se sastoji od tri toma. Ispreplice se prica o nekim robotima na Jupiterovim mesecima - moravecima, sa buducom sudbinom ljudi na Zemlji a sve zajedno sa drugim dimenzijama i nekim mmonstrumom Setebom koji ima oblik ogromnog mozga sa milijardama malih rucica. Tu se svi jure i na kraju posle 2000 strana malo suntav kraj.

Isaak
Asimov was born 1920 in Petrovk (Russia). 1923 emigrated its family
into the USA. In the 50's Asimov laid down its Professur for
biochemistry at the University of Boston, and lived from then on of its
Schriftstellerei. It is considered today as one of the most productive
writers of the world. Except its numerous Science Fiction novels he
wrote popular-scientific special books for adults and children. Up to
its death on 6 April 1992 in New York it published over 500
kurzgeschichten, novels and scientific essays. It seems to give however
still very much unpublished material, so that also after its death
still some works appeared. Isaac Asimov is the author of the robot laws.

Even before his official entry into the mystery scene in The Caves Of Steel (1953), Isaac Asimov's science fiction books often exhibited mystery technique. In particular, his great Foundation Trilogy
(1941 - 1950) consists of a series of long short stories, each of which
has affinities to the formal detective story. Each has a complex plot,
and there is usually a surprise ending which reveals hidden aspects to
the situation, just as the solution does to a mystery story. Similarly,
the stories contained in I, Robot are often science
fictional mysteries. A robot is misbehaving: what could possibly cause
this? Investigation ultimately reveals the solution to the puzzle.
Asimov also wrote non series sf works in the same mystery format, most
importantly, "Hostess" (1951). There are no murders or official
detectives in these tales, but their status as stories in which
mysterious situations are ultimately elucidated, certainly makes them
close relatives of the mystery genre. The brilliant plot complexity of
the Foundation Trilogy , in particular, marks it out as one of the best works of science fiction.

Ray Bradbury is one of the immortals among us, whose classic works of SF, fantasy and horror will be read a thousand years from now by our descendents and the inhabitants of the planets of a thousand distant stars. Ray is a winner of the Nebula, Prometheus, O.Henry Memorial, Balrog, Bram Stoker, Benjamin Franklin, Aviation-Space Writers and World Fantasy (Lifetime Achievement) Awards. It's surely redundant to say he's a SFWA Grand Master. He has won the Gandalf Award for Lifetime Contribution to Fantasy (in 1980), and published his first story in 1941. A writer for TV, radio, theater and film, his credits including a script for the film Moby Dick. His show The Ray Bradbury Theatre is currently showing on the Sci-Fi Channel. Mel Gibson will star in and direct a new remake of Ray's classic Fahrenheit 451, slated for release in 1999.

He was born in Waukegan, Illinois on August 22,
1920. He lived in Illinois until about 1933-34, when his family
headed out to live in Los Angeles, but first lived very shortly
in Tucson, Arizona. He graduated from Los Angeles High School
in 1938, then spent most of his time at the library, where (according
to Ray) he graduated from the library at the age of 28. He and
his family still live in Los Angeles, California.

Isak Asimov

Isak Asimov (1920-1992) svakako spada u nekolicinu autora koji su,
decenijama već, laički sinonim za ’pravog’ pisca naučne fantastike. Profil
takvog pisca podrazumeva nekoliko bitnih odlika: visoko naučno-tehnološko
obrazovanje, prisutnost u medijima i sposobnost da se piše za široku
publiku, što će reći razumljivo, bez literarnih egzibicija. Asimov je
doktorirao hemiju i do 1958. godine predavao na Bostonskom univerzitetu da
bi potom prešao u ’slobodne umetnike’. Vanredna marljivost u pisanju naučno
popularnih i naučno fantastičkih dela rezultirala je ukupnim zbirom od
gotovo 500 knjiga pod njegovim imenom!
Asimov je literarni zanat pekao na tzv. palp naučnoj fantastici,
odbijajući da se bavi književnošću van žanra (pa je, u nadobudnosti slavnog
pisca, izjavio kako nikad nije “traćio vreme na Prusta, Tolstoja i ostale
pompezne Grke”). Prvu priču objavio je sa 19 godina i ubrzo postao jedan od
glavnih saradnika magazina “Astouding” koji je vodio DŽon Kembel ’izumitelj’
palp koncepta naučne fantastike, što podrazumeva mnogo akcije, ludih
naučnika, buljookih zlih vanzemaljaca i mlade belce koji spasavaju svet i
svoju draganu. Kembel je smislio i poznate zakone robotike radi obezbeđenja
neprkosnovenu vlast čoveka nad tim mašinama a Asimov je ispisao seriju priča
koje se iscrpljuju u dokazivanju ovih zakona odnosno njihovom pozitivnom
manipulisanju.
Pored robotskih dela (“Ja, robot”, “Čelične pećine”, “Golo Sunce”,
“Roboti zore”, “Roboti i carstvo”...), Asimov je napisao dela koja se
svrstavaju u cikluse o kosmičkom Carstvu (“Svemirske struje”, “Zvezde, prah
nebeski”, “Kamičak na nebu”...), o tajanstvenoj Zadužbini (“Zadužbina”,
“Druga zadužbina”, “Zadužbina i carstvo”, “Na rubu Zadužbine”...), odnosno
dela omladinske proze (serija o Lakiju Staru, svemirskom rendžeru) i romane
van ovih ciklusa (“Kraj večnosti”, “Fantastično putovanje I i II”, “I samo
bogovi”...).
Sve priče i romani zasnovani su na spekulativno-naučnim tezama oko kojih
se pletu intrige i njihova rešenja, često u formi detektivske istrage.
Karakterizacija likova krajnje je pojednostavljena i funkcionalna. Pred kraj
života Asimov je povezao cikluse o robotima, Carstvu i Zadužbini, gradeći
tako svoju ’istoriju budućnosti’. Naučna fantastika Isaka Asimova, uprkos
pominjanim manjkavostima, mora se uvažavati jer uspešno zadovoljava
dečačku/mladalačku žudnju za nesputanim avanturama na egzotičnim mestima;
pošto je planeta Zemlja odavno istražena i prestala da bude intrigantna,
svemir je postao ta nužno potrebna ’divlja granica’ čudesa i bajki XX veka,
kojom haraju nova čudovišta-vanzemaljci, roboti, radi božanska tehnologija,
uzdižu se i padaju carstva i junače dobri, stari, neustrašivi heroji-uzori.

Life and work

The Strugatsky brothers (Бра́тья Струга́цкие), as they are usually called, became the best-known Soviet science fiction writers with a well developed fan base. Their early work was influenced by Ivan Yefremov. Their most famous novel Piknik na obochine has been translated into English as Roadside Picnic in 1977 and was filmed by Andrei Tarkovsky under the title Stalker.

Several other works have been translated into English, but did not receive even a fraction of the critical acclaim of Russian audiences. There are three chief factors responsible: first, that failings inevitably arise when an attempt is made to translate colloquial Russian into a language that does not very well support its grammatical structure; second, that a basic understanding of the rigid mindset promoted by the Stalinist regime is a prerequisite to being able to see the contrast and rejection of uniformity that is evident in every one of the Strugatskys' works; and finally, that much of the humor of works such as Monday Begins on Saturday comes from hundreds of years' worth of cultural and literary allusions.

It should be noted, however, that the Strugatsky brothers were and still are popular in many countries, including Poland, Bulgaria, and Germany, where most of their works were available in both East and West Germany.

The brothers were Guests of Honour at the 1987 World Science Fiction Convention, held in Brighton, England.

Several of the books written by the Strugatskys take part in the same universe, known as The World of Noon; another unofficial and perhaps less-known title is the Wanderers Universe. The name derives from the title of one of their texts, Noon: 22nd Century. Among the main characteristics of Noon Universe are a very high level of social, scientific, and technological development, high creativity of the general population, and very significant increases in the level of societal maturity compared to either the modern world or any of those known to exist. For instance, this world knows no monetary stimulation (indeed, money does not exist), yet every person is engaged in a profession that interests him or her. The Earth of Noon Universe is a governed by a global technocratic council composed of the world's leading scientists and philosophers.

Noon Universe was described by the authors as the world in which they would like to live and work. It became highly influential for at least a generation of Soviet people, e.g. a person could speak with quotes from Strugatsky books sure of being understood. At first the authors thought of the Noon Universe to come into reality "by itself", then they realized that the only way to achieve it is inventing the High Theory of Upbringing, making upbringing of each person a unique deed.

One of the important story arcs of those books is how the advanced human civilization covertly steers the development of those considered less advanced. Agents of humans are known as Progressors. At the same time, some humans suspect that a very advanced spacefaring race called Wanderers exists and is 'progressing' humanity itself.

Tributes

Several writers have to a varying degree paid their tribute to the works of Strugatsky brothers.

Sergey Lukyanenko in his dilogy The Stars Are Cold Toys has the main character visit a world that is in many aspects strikingly similar to Earth from Noon Universe but in truth is revealed to be fundamentally different and oppressive.

The plot of Kir Bulychev's novella about Alice's adventures Vacations in Space, or the Planet Five-Four is based on finding a secret base of mysterious "Wanderers" (Странники), an extinct highly advanced civilization. He also depicted his own Zone in the story Save Galya!.

In late 1990s, a three-volume collection of fiction by notable contemporary Russian science fiction authors, titled The Time of the Apprentices (Время учеников), was published with an endorsement of Boris Strugatsky. Each piece in the collection was a sequel to one of Strugatskys' books.

Danas sam kupio knjigu Bredberija " Farenhajt 451". Radjen je i film ali posto je knjiga od 190 strana mislim da cu moci i da je procitam a ne samo odgledam.

pa se postavlja pitanje ima li danas slicnih kod nas? ako neko zna neka napise

koliko ja znam nema... ceo sf nam se svodi na Lagunu i malo nesto Solaris... katastrofa.. a toliko ima na svetu novih romana.... samo nagrade hugo da se prevedu i bilo bi materijala za citanje.

Kuci nemam SF stvari, sem stotinak Siriusa...

Remek delo SF literature, doduše kao i ostala, ovog intelektualnog džina 20 veka
ali ovo mi je posebno.

Nema šanse ni da se setim šta sam sve prožvakao...
volim hard SF ali i dobru Space Operu, kao i dobar sf strip, mada je to teško bilo naći i u zlatno doba SF a i stripa...

Baš čitam o navodnom plagiranju od strane Camerona u vezi Avatara, pa se komentarišu ideje od braće Strugacki, preko Tihane iz Erga Predraga Uroševića...
A setih se da sam čitao i priču Pola Andersona Zovi me Džo, kod nas objavljena u Siriusu br 18 iz 1977...
Tek tu je ista ideja o čoveku invalidu koji svoj um pozajmljuje veštački kreiranpm biću, doduše na Jupiteru...
