Massa beats Kimi in desert duel

Felipe Massa got his championship challenge up and running in Bahrain for the second straight season by beating Ferrari team-mate Kimi Raikkonen to win at Sakhir.

The Brazilian finally opened his points account for 2008 with a commanding drive that saw him seize the lead from the start and withstand all the pressure the world champion could throw at him.

Ferrari’s first 1-2 of the year was never seriously in doubt after Massa and then Raikkonen quickly passed polesitter Robert Kubica in the opening stages of the race.

Nevertheless the BMW driver kept the pair honest and eventually came through to take a second consecutive podium finish, just ahead of team-mate Nick Heidfeld.

BMW’s fine result saw it overtake McLaren at the head of the constructors’ championship as the Woking squad endured a nightmare day.

Lewis Hamilton walked away with no points after a disastrous afternoon which saw him drop down to 10th at the start and then to the back after a colliding with former team-mate Fernando Alonso in a hugely controversial incident on lap two.

The Briton suddenly caught his Renault arch rival under acceleration and slammed into the back of him – pitching up him into the air and breaking his front wing.

From there the Briton struggled with the handling of his MP4-23 and struggled to a 13th place finish, meaning he slips to third in the title chase behind Raikkonen and Heidfeld.

Heikki Kovalainen salvaged something for the weekend for McLaren with fifth place, albeit half a minute behind Massa.

Jarno Trulli continued Toyota’s strong form with sixth, with Red Bull’s Mark Webber taking a strong seventh ahead of Williams' Nico Rosberg in eighth.

This circuit was built in 1991, after the Spanish Motor federation decided to stop sharing the Spanish Grand Prix between four other tracks. The 4.627KM circuit is situated just north of Barcelona and is used for testing by the F1 teams throughout the year.

Nigel Mansell won in 1991 in his Williams Renault, after Gerhard Berger's Ferrari engine failed, and Ayrton Senna chose the wrong tyres for the changing conditions. 1992 saw Mansell winning again, with then rookie, Michael Schumacher taking second in the Benetton. Senna came to grief once more, spinning off into the wall with only a few laps to go.

Alain Prost dominated for Williams in '93, ahead of Senna, and in '94, Damon Hill helped raise morale in the team following Senna's tragic death, taking the win, with Schumacher second.

Michael Schumacher won in '95 in his Benetton, and dominated '96 in the Ferrari, in very wet conditions; rising from sixth to the lead by lap 12, and '97 saw Jacques Villeneuve winning for Williams. Mika Hakkinen took the win here three years in succession, '98 and '99 and 2000 with Michael Schumacher victorious for Ferrari in 2001 and 2002.

Michael Schumacher continued his Spanish dominance in 2003 as he took the victory ahead of local hero Fernando Alonso in 2003 and ahead of team-mate Barrichello in a crushing one-two result in 2004.

For 2005, the circuit underwent a few safety modifications but significantly was completely resurfaced for the first time since the circuit opened. Kimi Raikkonen dominated the event in his McLaren Mercedes, taking the chequered flag nearly half a minute clear of Alonso.

2006 saw Alonso make history as he became the first Spanish driver to win his home event, taking the chequered flag in the Renault nearly 20 seconds ahead of Schumacher. Giancarlo Fisichella ran second early on in the second Renault but dropped behind Schumacher in the pit stops.

The 2007 event was a pretty tedious affair with Felipe Massa dominating from the pole position for the second straight race in his Ferrari. It was not all so easy however as the Brazilian and Alonso clashed on the run into the first turn with the latter taking a wild ride through the gravel trap. Hamilton took the runner-up position with Alonso recovering to finish third.

ozbiljno meni je to skroz dosadno!!!

bio sam na hungaroringu i mogu vam reci da je bilo extra mada ferrari nije imao srece ali bice bolje drugi put pa vam prenosim delic atmosfere

SVRSIO SAM NA OBJEKTIV

e stvarno je super gledati jedan gran prix uzivo preporucio bi svakom i to da se ode sva tri dana i nikako nekupovati karte za stajanje ili general admision koje kostaju 110eura nego lepo od tapkarosa za stotinak eura karte za neku dobru trebinu i uzivati odusevila me honda jeste da nije neka ekipa ali sto taj bolid ima extra zvuk uzivao sam stvarno i postao mi je posle Ferrarija omiljeni tim sada skupljam pare za monzu trebace mi somina eura minimum ali monza je monza

Ali Chubi.. kad ces ako neces sad.. posle kad dodju pelene i sl nece biti kinte...

a šta ta ruka sa rukavicom pokazuje :scratch:

to pokazuje mehanicar iz boxa gde se nalaze

trazi ih da te provozaju malo... znas kako je fino kad ti krzno leprsa po vetru :P
